[This notice does not apply to exempt programs, accredited colleges, or universities]
The EMS Authority has received information that non-approved programs and/or non-approved instructors have taught classes without EMS Authority approval to train child care providers. To prevent being the victim of fraud, you can verify your course selection before you attend the training. By checking the training program first, you will know you will receive the correct training to meet the requirements to work in the child care environment, and you won’t lose money or waste valuable time.
Anyone with EMS Authority Pediatric CPR sticker numbers: C50033 - C50052 must retake the pediatric courses before working in the child care environment. These individuals are encouraged to contact the EMS Authority, at (916) 322-4336, for further information.
Anyone who has a pediatric first aid, pediatric CPR, and/or a preventive health course completion card issued by a non-certified training program or a non-approved instructor, must retake, and pay to retake, the class(es) from an EMS Authority approved program. A valid certificate for each course is required and must be obtained before you can work in the child care environment.
